England make move to beat Nigeria to Arsenal, Spurs, Liverpool, Man City, Bristol City kids
The English Football Association is taking steps to recruit five dual-national teenagers eligible to represent England before the Nigeria Football Federation can secure their international allegiance, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Arsenal defender Israel Aduba, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Israel Ekundayo, Liverpool starlet Henry Keshi, Bristol City defender David Akinwunmi and Manchester City youngster Dubem Okechukwu have all been named in the latest England U15 squad.
The aforementioned players of Nigerian descent have been invited to England's U15 Emerging Talent Camp, which will take place at St George's Park from August 11 to 14.
The main purpose of the Emerging Talent Camp is to encourage the youngsters to commit their international futures to England and keep them on the national team pathway, amid increasing competition for players eligible to represent more than one country.
Bukayo Saka, Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze could all have played for Nigeria, but the three Arsenal attackers eventually chose England and represented the Three Lions at the 2026 World Cup.
Another Arsenal attacker, Ethan Nwaneri, who is on the radar of the Nigeria Football Federation and manager Eric Chelle, was invited to join England's camp in Florida as a training player ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Eze, then at Queens Park Rangers, trained with the Super Eagles in London ahead of a planned friendly against Burkina Faso, but the match was cancelled, denying him the chance to make his debut for the three-time African champions.
