Arsenal are closing in on the official announcement of Bruno Guimaraes after the Brazilian reportedly signed his contract on Thursday night.
The Bruno Guimaraes Arsenal transfer has now moved beyond the medical stage, with the £75million midfielder set to become Mikel Arteta’s latest major addition.
Guimaraes successfully completed his medical earlier this week after Arsenal reached an agreement with Newcastle United.
The remaining paperwork has now reportedly been completed.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Guimaraes signed his Arsenal contract on Thursday night, with an official announcement expected “very soon”.
It represents another significant step in a transfer which has developed quickly since Newcastle finally agreed to sell their captain.

There should now be few obstacles remaining before Arsenal formally unveil the Brazil international.
ReadArsenal reported on Thursday that Guimaraes had passed his medical ahead of the £75m move, having previously agreed personal terms with the Premier League champions.
The contract signature therefore provides the next meaningful progression rather than another report simply repeating the agreement between Arsenal and Newcastle.
Guimaraes will add another proven Premier League midfielder to Arteta’s squad and could form an imposing partnership with Declan Rice when both are available.
Arsenal supporters may not have much longer to wait to see him officially holding the shirt.
Unless an unexpected late issue emerges, the Bruno Guimaraes Arsenal transfer appears to have reached its final stage, with only the club announcement now outstanding.
