The Olympic figure skater and San Francisco 49ers legend represented the Bay Area on the latest spinoff of the trivia show, reading off clues for contestants during the debut of “ESPN Jeopardy!”

All 10 episodes of the season premiered on Disney+, Hulu and the ESPN app on July 31.

Liu was a guest in the fourth episode, which featured ESPN’s Hannah Storm, Jay Harris and Amina Smith as contestants. The East Bay athlete appeared via prerecorded videos while standing in an ice rink.

She read clues about topics such as “Heated Rivalry” star Hudson Williams, who she co-starred with in Laufey’s “Mad Woman” music video in May; a triple axel in figure skating; and “MacArthur Park” by Donna Summer, the song she used during her gold medal winning free skate at the Winter Olympics in Milan earlier this year. The name of her category was “Get a clue from Alysa Liu.”

In the following episode, Rice stepped in, presenting an entire section of clues related to his career with the Niners, titled “Jerry Rice makes the catch!” He also prerecorded videos for his portion.

NFL Network’s “Good Morning Football” co-hosts Kyle Brandt, Jamie Erdahl and Manti Te’o competed in the episode. Topics included the Cincinnati Bengals, whom Rice helped the Niners beat in Super Bowl XXIII in 1989; Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison, with whom Rice was named to the NFL 100 anniversary All-Time Team and; Kansas Chiefs Chiefs tight ends Travis Kelce and Tony Gonzalez, who join Rice as some of the NFL’s all-time leaders in receptions.

Hosted by “Monday Night Football” announcer Joe Buck, “ESPN Jeopardy!” features sports commentators and celebrities competing on behalf of the charities of their choice. The grand prize is $500,000.

The show is the latest of several “Jeopardy!” spinoffs in recent years, including “Pop Culture Jeopardy!,” “Jeopardy! YouTube Edition” and “Celebrity Jeopardy!,” which Oakland comic W. Kamau Bell won in 2025.
