Man Who Stole Millions From NFL Players Found Dead In Pool
A dramatic and unexpected turn has taken place in the story surrounding Mohamed Coulibaly.
New Jersey police found the 24-year-old’s body in a swimming pool at a home that he owned in Harrison Township. Coulibaly had been accused of orchestrating an investment scam targeting NFL players.
Coulibaly’s body was discovered Friday after authorities conducted a welfare check requested by family members.
The cause of death has not yet been determined by investigators. An investigation into the incident is ongoing by the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office. Just weeks earlier, Coulibaly was facing serious fraud allegations involving professional athletes.

A Barron’s article reported that Coulibaly allegedly enticed athletes into e-commerce investments by displaying huge sales figures and promising ownership stakes.
This report alleges that those financial records do not reflect legitimate business operations.
Tae Crowder, a former NFL linebacker, claims he invested his entire savings, about $500,000, with Coulibaly after meeting him through a mutual acquaintance. Crowder claimed he never received a return on his investment.
In an interview with Barron’s, Coulibaly denied those allegations.
His claim was that investors had not yet been paid because he was awaiting proceeds from a planned acquisition involving his company.
