Liverpool told for the first time ever that Bradley Barcola deal may not happen
There has been a fresh twist in the Bradley Barcola to Liverpool transfer saga.
Earlier today, we relayed claims on Read Liverpool that the Reds were ready to bid €115m and that talks were heading in the right direction.
That report came from France, which was more reason to believe that the 24-year-old will be a Liverpool player before the end of the summer transfer window.
However, the latest update from the French media is that the Reds may not be able to afford him.
Liverpool dealt massive Bradley Barcola blow
L’Equipe reported Liverpool’s impending bid for the PSG man. The whole article took a reassuring stance, suggesting that all parties involved want to get the deal done now.
Now, Canal Plus claim that the Reds haven’t made an offer and don’t intend to, as they don’t have the financial means to get the deal done.
Canal Plus journalist Oliver Tallaron wrote on X: “PSG #Barcola: Liverpool has not made an official offer for the Parisian striker and would have even indicated to the club that it did not have the means to afford the former Lyonnais [forward].”
Le Parisien, a local newspaper from the area, corroborate those claims.

Benjamin Quarez, one of their journalists, wrote on X: “PSG is maintaining its demands for Bradley Barcola: the club is asking for 160-170M€.
“As of now, Liverpool has made it known that it will not match this amount. The first offer has not yet been submitted to the Parisian officials.”
To be honest, we can’t see a scenario where Liverpool pay €170m for Barcola or anyone else, as that is an outrageous outlay on one player. This is undoubtedly a big blow for the Reds and it remains to be seen how the situation pans out.
We initially had good news today, only to be pegged back by this double blow. Wonder what tomorrow has to offer…
