Pittsburgh waived Harvey yesterday to make room for veteran S Israel Mukuamu on the 91-man roster. An undrafted rookie out of Georgia Tech, Harvey saw scant snaps during the team’s first several practices. Even with cornerbacks Joey Porter Jr. and Donte Kent on Active/PUP and not practicing, Harvey was buried at the end of the depth chart behind several players also fighting for a practice squad spot: Doneiko Slaughter, D’Shawn Jamison, Daryl Porter, and Tamon Lynum.

Harvey will try to stick to the Dolphins’ summer roster the rest of the month and make a run at a practice squad spot. He’ll have less competition for a roster spot with the rebuilding Dolphins, who feature rookie first-round pick Chris Johnson, former Indianapolis Colts CB JuJu Brents, as well as former New England Patriots CB Alex Austin among their top options.

Although Harvey will be joining the Dolphins late in the process, he is still joining before Miami has played any preseason games. The Dolphins may well provide a better opportunity for him.

Last season at Georgia Tech, Harvey had seven passes defensed and has four interceptions in his collegiate career. He was a participant in the 2026 East-West Shrine Bowl. At Georgia Tech’s Pro Day, he measured in at 5113 and 187 pounds while running a 4.54 40-yard dash and putting up an impressive 31 reps on the bench press. He also posted a vertical jump of 31 inches and a 9’08” broad jump.

Harvey initially committed to Auburn as a four-star recruit and top-300 recruit in the Class of 2021. He transferred out of Auburn following his freshman season and played at Georgia Tech from 2022-2025, finishing his collegiate career with 121 tackles, 12 passes defensed, one sack and four interceptions.

Harvey had initially signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent following the 2026 NFL Draft.
