Liverpool will kick off its new Premier League campaign two weeks from tomorrow with the trip to take on Newcastle United, but Andoni Iraola's squad looks paper-thin as things stand.
More transfers are needed in order for the Reds to get into shape, with Liverpool hoping to be able to compete on all fronts next term. Quite simply, that won't be possible with the current lack of numbers. Late on Friday, news broke of interest in Barcelona center-back Ronald Araujo.
Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the other transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today. We start with more on their top target, with the latest from France making for interesting reading.
Bradley Barcola (PSG)
Liverpool is set to open the bidding for Bradley Barcola at around $133 million (£99 million), according to L'Equipe.
PSG is set to demand more, but progress is likely to come sooner rather than later, considering the clock is very much ticking.
Barcola is open to the move and personal terms won't be an issue, while agreeing a reasonable fee might be easier once PSG gets in a couple of its winger targets, with Maghnes Akliouche already confirmed.
The Ajax forward Mika Godts has also been looked at by PSG, in addition to Barcelona's Ferran Torres. Adding those stars, even having sold Goncalo Ramos and Lee Kang-in, would make selling Barcola easier.

Barcola is a primary target for Liverpool this summer as it seeks to find more pace and quality in wide areas. Fellow PSG forward Ibrahim Mbaye is another who is under consideration.
It is obvious that Liverpool needs more quality and numbers in the final third. Work is ongoing to ensure that happens before the September 1 deadline arrives.
Liverpool.com says: Barcola is the best option available on the market. One worry would be that Arsenal swoops in after failing to convince Vinicius Jr. to leave Real Madrid, but the Reds are in the driving seat.
Luke Chambers (Liverpool)
Liverpool defender Luke Chambers, who was a strong performer under Andoni Iraola during pre-season, is drawing interest from several clubs this month.
According to the Liverpool ECHO, Championship side Queens Park Rangers is one of them, in addition to at least one team abroad.
Because he is left-footed and primarily a left-back, Chambers is unlikely to get many minutes at Liverpool next season. If he were right-sided, he would have a much stronger argument for sticking around.
Liverpool.com says: Chambers is a really good player, and there might be a spot at left-back for him next year when Kostas Tsimikas' contract expires. Before then, another loan seems to make sense.
