Those numbers explain why Arsenal see him as someone capable of stepping straight into a title-chasing side.

Villa, though, have every reason to dig in. Their reported £60 million valuation reflects more than current form. Konsa has become one of Emery’s dressing-room leaders and played a major part in Villa’s Europa League-winning campaign, scoring twice during the competition before starting the final.

There is another angle. Reports suggest Konsa has shown openness to joining Arsenal, while fresh contract talks have yet to produce an agreement. With only two years left on his existing deal, Villa must balance sporting ambition against financial reality.
Liverpool have entered the conversation because of their own defensive concerns, yet Arsenal appear ready to keep pushing. A revised package worth around £50 million to £55 million, backed by realistic add-ons, feels closer to Villa’s demands than the first approach.
