The Buffalo Bills put together a strong all-around NFL offseason. Heading into the 2026 NFL season, they are once again viewed as a team who could make a run all the way to the Super Bowl.

Over the last few years, Josh Allen and company have had those same expectations. However, they have come up short in the playoffs year after year.

A few of the headline offseason additions were wide receiver D.J. Moore, pass rusher Bradley Chubb, and safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson. Moore was acquired in a big trade with the Chicago Bears, while both Chubb and Gardner-Johnson were free agency signings.

While the roster looks good on paper, there are still ways the Bills could improve. There are many who think they could still look to upgrade the wide receiver room even more.

Keeping that in mind, one former NFL executive has spoken out about a player he thinks Buffalo could explore a trade for before the 2026 deadline.

Former NFL Exec Thinks Bills Could Explore George Pickens Trade

One name to keep an eye on could be Dallas Cowboys wide receiver George Pickens. After entering the season hoping for a new contract, Pickens ended up having the franchise tag placed on him.

At this point in time, the expectation is that the Cowboys and Pickens will part ways after the 2026 season.

With that being said, the former executive believes Pickens could be available ahead of the trade deadline. If that scenario becomes a reality, he thinks the Bills would have interest.

“Let’s say George Pickens is made available, there are quite a few teams who would pursue a trade for him,” the exec said. “My favorite potential destination is Buffalo. Pickens and Allen long-term would be one of the most dangerous quarterback-wide receiver duos in the league.”

Outside of the Bills, the exec mentioned a few other potential landing spots who could compete for Pickens.

“If it’s not Buffalo, I think the Raiders and Falcons could make sense. Maybe a team like Indianapolis gets involved.”

What Would George Pickens Bring to the Buffalo Offense?

Pickens is still just 25 years old. After spending the first three years of his NFL career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, he finally had his breakout season in 2025.

In 2025, he played in 17 games. Pickens racked up 93 receptions for 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns. He looked the part of a true No. 1 wideout.

Moore was a nice addition for the Bills. He will be able to handle the No. 1 wide receiver role, but he isn’t an ideal top target. Pickens would be that kind of player.

There is no telling whether or not Dallas will be open to trading Pickens this year. If the Cowboys do open up to the idea, Buffalo should have interest. Pickens would be the final piece that makes the Bills’ offense truly elite.
