There is poised to be significant activity at Barcelona over the remaining weeks of the summer transfer window. Ronald Araujo is about to join Liverpool on a season long-loan, and it’s expected that Tommy Marques will also be heading to the exit door by the end of the month.

Marques has communicated to Barcelona that he wants to leave before the summer transfer window closes, and already, interest is starting to arrive. Manchester City are keen to sign him as a player for the future, with the plan being to immediately loan him out to Girona upon a deal being finalised, while Borussia Dortmund also view him as someone that could be a regular starter in the coming years.
At this stage, the favourites to sign Marques are Braga. The Portuguese side have an existing relationship with Barcelona after signing Pau Victor last summer, and they see the young midfielder as someone that can be an important player now.
Selling to Braga makes the most sense for Barcelona, given that they intend to include a buy-back clause in any agreement. They are keen to retain control over Marques’ future, although it remains to be seen whether they can get any club to agree to their demands when talks get underway in the coming weeks.
