Liverpool offer causes confusion – Reds now in ongoing talks

Liverpool have been working on signing Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola to further strengthen their attack.

Last week, we relayed news the forward wants to move to the Premier League and has reached an agreement in principle with the Reds.

Two days ago, we covered French updates that there are expectations for Liverpool to sign him. PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi could directly hold talks with Fenway Group.

Liverpool’s reported offer

L’Equipe’s print edition on Saturday explains PSG wanted to hold on to the France international with a contract until 2028.

However, he has decided against signing an extension and this has seen the Champions League winners push for his sale this summer.

Liverpool have made a decisive move by tabling a €115m bid. Luis Enrique’s side have turned it down and are demanding €150m excluding bonuses.

This report surfaced on Friday and there were denials from France about the Merseyside club’s offer.

Liverpool take firm stance

Le Parisien journalist Benjamin Quarez is among those who dismissed Liverpool tabling a bid for Bradley Barcola.

He took to X to state PSG are requesting €160-170m, likely including bonuses.

Andoni Iraola’s side have made it clear to the French club they won’t meet their demand.

The French club are requesting well over €150m for the 23-year-old. That means the gap between the Premier League side and PSG’s valuation is significant, but the ‘discussions are ongoing’.

PSG already working on replacement

Faced with the possibility of losing Barcola, PSG are working on signing Ajax’s Mika Godts. Luis Enrique’s side are preparing a new proposal and are expecting a positive outcome.

Earlier this week, there was optimism about the attacker moving to Liverpool. That doesn’t seem to be the case after the latest reports from France.
