According to Fernando Polo of _Mundo Deportivo_, Barça and Liverpool have agreed to include a €55 million buy option in the deal, which could be activated next summer if the Uruguayan has a great season at Anfield under new manager Andoni Iraola.
The figure is certainly affordable for a big English club like Liverpool, and the fact Araujo is an excellent fit for a fast-paced, physical league such as the Premier League makes it at least possible that the Reds could entertain activating the option next summer.
Liverpool will also cover Araujo’s entire salary this season, so the total cost of a possible transfer next summer might end up being pretty beneficial to Barça.
