Xabi Alonso has named his Chelsea XI for their next pre-season friendly against AC Milan, with a number of big names getting more minutes in the tank ahead of the new season.
It has been a mixed bag for the Blues during the tour so far, with recent defeats against Tottenham and Juventus following a win against Western Sydney Wanderers.
Chelsea are back in action again tomorrow, meaning a number of the starters today can expect to play closer to 90 minutes before missing that game.
Confirmed Chelsea XI vs AC Milan
Let’s take a look at the XI who will start against Ruben Amorim’s AC Milan, which includes former Blue Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
Alonso is only two weeks away from managing his first Premier League game, and will be looking forward to welcoming the likes of Reece James, Morgan Rogers and Maxence Lacroix into his squad soon.
Cole Palmer and Levi Colwill missed the last friendly due to a slight injury, with Palmer now fit enough to be back in the squad this afternoon.
Meanwhile, there is still no start in goal for Mike Penders, who is expected to remain at Stamford Bridge this season and fight for the number one spot with Robert Sanchez.
While results are never the most important thing from pre-season games, there will be hope amongst Chelsea fans that they can get a victory on the board and build confidence before the Premier League curtain-raiser against Fulham.
