Personal terms done, 4 yr deal: Agreement reached to allow Liverpool deal to progress

Liverpool will be pleased to see Paris Saint-Germain have reached an agreement with Ferran Torres on a four-year contract.

The Reds are keeping a close eye on every development at the Parc des Princes, with a deal to sign Bradley Barcola contingent on the Parisians completing their transfer business.

The 23-year-old winger is keen on joining Liverpool this summer, with the Reds locked in talks with PSG for weeks now.

Recent claims suggested that Liverpool are set to submit a £98m bid for Barcola, but PSG are likely to reject it as it falls well below their £145m demand. The Merseysiders have supposedly communicated that they will not and cannot match that fee, so talks rumble on.

Ferran Torres development will help PSG increase squad depth for when Bradley Barcola leaves.

While PSG and Liverpool remain far apart in their valuations of Barcola, there is reportedly confidence between the two parties that a compromise will be reached before the summer transfer window slams shut on 1 September at 11 pm.

According to trusted Spanish football journalist Matteo Moretto, PSG and Ferran Torres have reached an agreement on personal terms for a move to Ligue 1. The World Cup final hero is set to be a part of the defending European champions’ bid to make it three successive Champions League titles.

Moretto reported on X: “Ferran chooses Paris: Barça and PSG are already negotiating. The player already has a deal closed with the French club. He has committed for the next four seasons.”

In the accompanying link to a Marca report, it is stated: “The talks have been conducted discreetly between Deco and Luis Campos , the sporting directors of both clubs, who are close friends. While the spotlight was on Julián Álvarez, Rodri, and Araujo, Ferran’s departure was taking shape.”

Araujo has joined Liverpool on loan – an interesting transfer domino that nobody saw coming.

The Marca report continued: “The player has already reached an agreement with PSG. He has committed for the next four seasons , and from that point on, only the finalisation of negotiations between the two clubs remains, which is what is currently being discussed.

“The two sides are very close to an agreement, and a deal could be reached in the coming days. In fact, the intention of all parties is to finalize the transfer before Wednesday so that Ferran doesn’t have to rejoin training with the team.

“PSG will pay Barcelona a fee close to €50 million.”

While the report says nothing of Liverpool, Torres’ move to PSG will assure the Ligue 1 giants that they have enough depth to feel comfortable allowing Barcola to leave. Additionally, the money Liverpool will pay for Barcola will ensure the Torres deal costs them almost nothing.
