A dominant Chelsea ran out 3-0 winners against AC Milan in pre-season in Indonesia. The Chelsea Chronicle have handed out player ratings from the game.
Xabi Alonso debuted a back three for Chelsea for their clash against Milan, with Marco Palestra and Pedro Neto featuring as wing-backs for the Blues.
Joao Pedro scored from close range either side of half-time to put the Blues ahead, before a special Moises Caicedo volley put them three goals clear.
This was comfortably Chelsea’s best performance of pre-season so far, and The Chelsea Chronicle have handed out player ratings from their dominant victory.
Robert Sanchez: 7/10
Hardly tested between the sticks. Looks a shoo-in to start the first game of the season against Fulham ahead of Mike Penders.
Josh Acheampong: 9/10
Playing as part of a back three, this was easily Josh Acheampong’s best performance of pre-season. Helped nullify the threat of Rafa Leao coming towards their goal.
Wesley Fofana: 9/10
Really strong performance from Wesley Fofana too. Another defender who looked perfectly suited to playing in a back three, as Fofana showed a new lease of life at the back.

Jorrel Hato: 7/10
The third of three centre-backs, who also looked incredibly comfortable in this position. Deputised for Levi Colwill brilliantly.
Marco Palestra: 8/10
Started at left-back for the first time since joining Chelsea, Palestra showed a great ability in the attacking third, and proved he will be a versatile asset for Alonso this season.
Moises Caicedo: 9/10
Caicedo took the corner which led to Chelsea’s opening goal, potentially adding a new weapon to his arsenal for the new season. In the second half, it was he who was on the end of a corner routine, scoring in special fashion.
Romeo Lavia: 8/10
Very composed in possession, turning away from danger effortlessly on a number of occasions. Chelsea really need Romeo Lavia to stay fit this season.
Cole Palmer: 6/10
Frequently dropped deep to get on the ball, although struggled to get into the game as much as he would have liked.
Pedro Neto: 7/10
Played in somewhat of a wing-back position, but still was on hand to assist Chelsea’s second goal. A new role for Neto but one he has shown encouraging signs in.

Joao Pedro: 9/10
Great header to give Chelsea the lead before providing a classic striker’s finish to make it two. Moves to five goals in the televised friendlies this summer.
Danny Welbeck: 5/10
Still building up some chemistry which Chelsea’s star-studded attacking line, although will not be too worried about that ahead of plenty more time on the training ground.
Nicolas Jackson: 7/10
Another who looked well-suited to the new system. Impressive performance, and should have either a goal or an assist for Palmer.
Geovany Quenda: 7/10
Hit the post in his quest to score his first Chelsea goal not long after coming on, but will still be pleased with more minutes in the tank for his new club.
