Eagles legend sends clear message regarding NFL future beyond 2026 season

[Philadelphia Eagles](https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/philadelphia-eagles) fans should appreciate watching Lane Johnson as much as they can during the 2026 season.

It sounds like that might be the last time that we see the six-time Pro Bowler out on the field.

Lane Johnson likely to retire following 2026 NFL season

-------------------------------------------------------

During a training camp media session, [Johnson revealed](https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/lane-johnson-probably-last-160500758.html) that he's viewing the '26 season as \*probably\* the last hurrah of what has been a legendary career in Philadelphia.

"As you get older, things change in your life Priorities, your children get older, parents get older. It just puts things into perspective. I'm looking like it's probably going to be my last year," Johnson said.

"Just cause I'm getting to that point —those priorities away from football are starting to merge. Not that I don't enjoy — I love everything about this game and preparing for it. That's kinda where I'm at in my career. Just looking forward to this year, playing the best I can and stay healthy. That's about it."

The Eagles selected Johnson with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, and he's been a staple on the offensive line in Philadelphia ever since. Over the course of his well-decorated career, Johnson received six Pro Bowl selections, five All-Pro nods and he helped the Eagles win the first two Super Bowls in franchise history.

Whenever Johnson does decide to call it a career, he' a shoe-in to be inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame, and he'll have a great case to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, too.
