John Mousinho confirmed he expects a double Pompey signing boost early next week.
The Blues boss has delivered a positive transfer update, as his club prepare to announce the captures of Abu Kamara and Ryan Kavuma-McQueen.
The News understands everything remains in place to announce another summer landmark capture, with Kamara set to arrive from Hull City.
The 23-year-old did not travel to Germany with the Tigers, as they completed their pre-season campaign against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.
A fee of around £2.5m is agreed with Hull along with personal terms with the player, with the Londoner set for his second Pompey debut against QPR next weekend.
Meanwhile, Kamara’s set to be joined by Kavuma-McQueen with the Chelsea teenager moving to PO4 and further bolstering attacking options.
A season-long loan deal is in place with the Premier League outfit for the 17-year-old, with the left footer offering versatility across the front line.
Mousinho is in upbeat mood when it comes to adding to the half a dozen signings recruited - and quickly.
He said: ‘It’s looking pretty positive.
‘I switch off from transfers in the build-up to the game, but I’m now expecting a couple through the door for QPR. In fact, I’d be very surprised if we didn’t have a couple in by Tuesday.’
Kamara’s arrival will signal Pompey’s third significant transfer fee shelled out this summer, with transfer spending upped ahead of the club’s third Championship campaign.
Marko Milovanović has been captured from UD Almeria for an initial €3.5m, with deal potentially worth an eventual €5m.
He’s been joined by Rocco Shein, who competed a move worth more than £2m from Norwegian outfit Fredrikstad FK
Now Kamara represents further intent from Pompey, as he provides much-needed quality on the right flank.
The former Norwich man has now undergone his Blues medical, as he successfully negotiated the final hurdle ahead of his exciting unveiling.
Mousinho was staying coy on that development, however, as he offered a tongue-in-cheer response to the development.
When asked about Kamara’s medical, Mousinho said: ‘You’d have to ask the medical team about that, I just get on with the games and work with the players!’
