News
FootballTransfers runs through the biggest rumours and gossip from 9 August, including the latest updates on Omar Marmoush, Kenan Yildiz and Julian Alvarez.
Newcastle want Marmoush
Newcastle hold a genuine interest in Man City forward Omar Marmoush, CaughtOffside claims.
The Egypt international only joined the Cityzens in January 2025, but transfer speculation has never been far away due to his struggles to get regular starting opportunities in a team that boasts Erling Haaland.
Newcastle believe that they could prise him away from the Etihad, and they have money to spend after making several major sales, but Man City are reluctant to allow Marmoush to leave.
Arsenal return for Yildiz

Arsenal are back in the mix to sign Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz, La Stampa claims (via Sport Witness).
The Gunners are exploring alternative left-wing targets after missing out on Vinicius Jr, and they are known to be long-standing admirers of Yildiz. Juventus, though, have always considered the Turkey international untouchable.
Despite this, Yildiz has surged back to the top of Arsenal's shortlist following the Vinicius rejection. Juventus would only consider softening their not-for-sale stance if offered a fee well in excess of €100 million.
New Alvarez strategy
Barcelona will not pressure Julian Alvarez into making a public statement on his Atletico Madrid future, AS writes.
Recent reports have suggested that the Argentine and his agent would go public (again) with the player's desire to leave Atleti for Barcelona, but there has been a change in strategy after a meeting with Blaugrana sporting director Deco.
Barcelona and Alvarez will attempt to use "diplomacy and dialogue" to persuade Atleti to soften their stance on the striker. Alvarez will hold private talks with Diego Simeone and the club hierarchy and reiterate his desire to leave the club.
Endrick keen on Premier League switch

The camp of Real Madrid striker Endrick has made contact with potential suitors, TEAMtalk writes.
The Brazilian striker is worried about his role under Jose Mourinho this season and is giving serious thought to a possible departure. His entourage has reached out to clubs like Chelsea and Man Utd to gauge their interest in potentially making a move.
Playing in the Premier League appeals to the youngster, and Chelsea, in particular, are long-time admirers. As things stand, however, Real Madrid will only sanction a loan exit.
Chelsea to benefit from Lukaku move
Chelsea are set to receive a financial windfall when Romelu Lukaku departs Napoli, Nicolo Schira understands.
The Blues sold the striker to the Serie A side for €30.7m in 2024 and inserted a 40% sell-on clause in the deal. Lukaku is now expected to leave Napoli after falling out with the club's management towards the end of last season.
The Belgian has rejected MLS side Atlanta United and is instead favouring a move to Fenerbahce. Napoli are demanding a fee in the region of €10m, meaning that Chelsea would be owed €4m.
