Xabi Alonson at Chelsea vs Milan
Xabi Alonson at Chelsea vs Milan
Chelsea got a timely pre-season win under Xabi Alonso on Saturday but more transfers could be on the way as the Blues bid to return to the Champions League. Joao Pedro scored twice, with Moises Caicedo also on target, as the Blues beat AC Milan in Jakarta
The London side have already broken their club record to sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa for £117million, while their total outlay has topped £300m after deals for the likes of Maxence Lacroix and Geovany Quenda. However, efforts are also being made to trim the squad.
With eight senior arrivals - a figure which is set to rise - and four senior exits, further departures are needed. The sales of Marc Cucurella, Andrey Santos and Tyrique George have helped raise £100m but more exits are to come with the potential to bring in big money if Enzo Fernandez is allowed to join Manchester City.
Chelsea are back in action on Sunday, with Alonso expected to change things up for a friendly against Johor Darul Ta'zim. We'll have all the latest for you throughout the day with football.london's live blog.

Blues set for Lukaku financial boost
Romelu Lukaku's impending move from Napoli to Fenerbahce could net Chelsea a few million.
Gazzetta reports that the Blues have a 40 per cent sell-on clause for the Belgian, negotiated when he returned to Italy.
The lowly fee paid by the Turkish club means the sum won't be huge - potentially around £3.4m for Chelsea - but every little helps.

What an Enzo Fernandez sale would mean for the Blues
Financially, bringing in a hefty sum for Enzo Fernandez would help offset some of this summer's spending.
The Argentina star cost north of £100m in 2023 and it's unlikely Chelsea would accept a significant loss on a player who has contributed significantly during his time in West London.
A sale wouldn't solve all their problems, though.
With an overstuffed squad at Xabi Alonso's disposal, the club still need to trim the fat in other areas regardless of what happens with Fernandez.

A potential boost on Badiashile exit?
Earlier, we brought you reports that Napoli are eyeing Benoit Badiashile but also looking at Nayef Aguerd.
Well, reports in France suggest Real Sociedad have reached an agreement to sign the Morocco international.
Could this prompt Napoli to step up their interest in Badiashile?
Neto sends reminder
Chelsea look to be on their way to comfortable victory over AC Milan after Pedro Neto delivered a timely reminder of his quality.
The Portuguese winger laid on Joao Pedro's second goal of the day, with Moises Caicedo also on target as we enter the final 10 minutes.
Neto has been linked with Manchester City, among others, though the assist today showed he could still have something to offer at Stamford Bridge.

Former Chelsea star Lukaku could be on the move again
Romelu Lukaku's second Chelsea spell feels a lifetime away as he gets linked with another move.
The Belgian rejoined the Blues for the best part of £100m in 2021 but has struggled with injuries of late.
According to Sky Sports, Fenerbahce are the latest side to be linked, and could leave Napoli as he enters the final year of his deal there.
A loan move the best option for Essugo?
The arrival of Valentin Barco could complicate Dario Essugo's Chelsea future.
According to BBC Sport, the Portuguese midfielder is among a number of players who could move this summer.
He's under contract until 2033, though, so the Blues may decide to look for a loan rather than cashing in right away.
A bomb squad reminder
New FIFA rules will prevent Chelsea and their rivals from putting unwanted players in the bomb squad.
This has increased the pressure on the Blues to offload players, with the number expected to depart before deadline day well into double figures.
Some of those deals, including exits for Trevoh Chalobah and Filip Jorgensen, are closer than others.
Chelsea XI to face AC Milan
Xabi Alonso has given new signing Danny Welbeck a start for today's friendly against AC Milan.
Fellow new arrival Marco Palestra also starts, while Geovany Quenda is on the bench with - among others - Mykhailo Mudryk.
Chelsea starting XI: Sanchez; Palestra, Acheampong, Fofana, Hato; Caicedo, Lavia; Palmer, Joao Pedro, Neto; Welbeck.

What's next for Disasi
Axel Disasi is another who looks certain to move this summer, though his destination has yet to be determined.
West Ham want to re-sign the defender after he impressed on loan last season, though their relegation complicates matters.
Chelsea are believed to want £25m for the Frenchman, who has also been linked with Crystal Palace.
But this one might not get wrapped up until later in the window.
Badiashile attracting Napoli interest
Benoit Badiashile is another Chelsea player who looks likely to leave if suitable interest arrives.
The loudest interest so far appears to be coming from Napoli.
According to Sky Italia, the Italian club are keen on a loan move for the French centre-back.
Napoli have also explored a move for Nayef Aguerd but the Moroccan is also attracting serious interest from Real Sociedad.

City 'still keen on' Enzo
Manchester City haven't given up on signing Enzo Fernandez, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
Their interes in the Chelsea star comes as Rodri continues to be linked with a move to La Liga.
Enzo isn't the only name linked, though, with Ayyoub Bouaddi also a candidate to follow Elliot Anderson to the Etihad Stadium.
Former Blue Buonanotte on the move
But now the Argentine is on the move once more.
Buonanotte has joined Elche on a season-long loan from Brighton.
He will want to play more than last term, when he managed just eight appearances across a pair of loans with Chelsea and Leeds.

Chalobah's Como move close
Trevoh Chalobah will join Como for an initial £25.7m, though BBC Sport reports that this could rise to £31m with add-ons.
The 27-year-old made more than 30 league appearances last season but the arrival of Maxence Lacroix has pushed him down the pecking order.
Chalobah's exit will count as pure profit for the Chelsea books after he came through the Blues' academy.
