Pavlovic one of few positives: Gazzetta dello Sport’s player ratings for Chelsea-Milan

Ratings Gazzetta and Pavlovic

After a heavy defeat, it’s safe to say that the AC Milan players weren’t exactly praised by today’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport, even if some did okay.

Milan failed to match the quality and intensity of Chelsea, losing 3-0 in the end, and there were some individual mistakes to highlight. As we mentioned in our player ratings, for example, Koni De Winter completely mistimed the corner on the second goal.

Speaking of the Belgian defender, Gazzetta dello Sport (see photo below) named him the worst in their player ratings, giving him a 5/10. He wasn’t terrible for the most part but such a mistake is hard to look past, especially when it becomes fatal.

As for the positives, however, the pink newspaper singled out Strahinja Pavlovic. The centre-back impressed with solid defending and also had a few good runs forward. He got the same rating as Luka Modric, 6.5/10, but was named the MOTM by the paper.

Seeing Lorenzo Torriani rated at 5.5 is a little bit surprising, even if he could have come off his line a bit more, and Filippo Terracciano’s mistake on the second goal warranted a lower rating in our opinion.

Gazzetta dello Sport’s ratings

6.5: Modric, Pavlovic (MOTM).

6: Comotto, Estupinan, Diawara.

5.5: Torriani, Terracciano, Chukwueze, Loftus-Cheek, Leao, Camarda, Gabbia, Jashari, Ricci.

5: De Winter, Ramos, Vladimirov, Saelemaekers, Bartesaghi, Musah, Nkunku.
