Marcus Rashford's dream of joining Barcelona could still be alive with Ferran Torres keen on a move to Paris Saint-Germain. Luis Enrique's side are set to make an official proposal to the La Liga champions next week after agreeing personal terms with the former Manchester City star.
It has been a impressive last 12 months for Torres with several pieces of silverware secured, including the World Cup with the 26-year-old scoring the winning goal in the final. Though he played an important role at Barca, he was not a regular starter, which may be why he is seeking a new challenge.
Rashford and Torres featured together on occasion, but the latter largely playing a secondary role to Robert Lewandowksi while the Englishman filled in for Raphinha during his injury absence.
Plaguing issues for the Brazilian and Lewandowski's departure as a free agent has resulted in Barca signing Karim Adeyemi and Anthony Gordon, which looked to have ended Rashford's chances of joining permanently after an impressive loan.
Though the fresh signings are not directly in competition with Torres, he may perhaps be feeling as though he is being overlooked.
Head coach Hansi Flick also appears open to him leaving when asked about his future after a 1-0 pre-season win over Nottingham Forest. He said: "I respect all the players, I don't know anything about the situation at the moment. I was focused on the team, and I don't know anything."
Hours before Barca's victory over Premier League position, Manchester United played out a 1-1 draw against Torres' potential future team PSG. Rashford was not involved as he is still on holiday following the World Cup.
Michael Carrick, did however, confirm that he and two others will be in the club's pre-season camp over the coming days as they prepare to face Leeds United and AC Milan.

The United head coach said: "We have got a full squad this week in Dublin. We fly straight there and have a few days where we have the whole group back together. “Marcus is part of that, and Kobbie [Mainoo] and Lisandro [Martinez]. We look forward to seeing them."
Rashford currently looks more likely to remain at Old Trafford, but a departure for Torres could certainly change things. Barca appear more focused on a move for Manchester City's Rodri currently, but may soon be forced to look at more attacking additions.
Julian Alvarez is likely above Rashford on their shortlist with Barca intensely chasing his signature before the World Cup. The Argentine reportedly still wants to leave but Diego Simeone's side have no intention of doing business with Barca unless his astronomical release clause is met - which could boost Rashford's chances.
