Liverpool are set to complete the loan signing of Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo while also chasing a move for PSG winger Bradley Barcola. Andoni Iraola is desperate to land further reinforcements ahead of the new Premier League season. He has been targeting the addition of a new centre-back following Ibrahima Konate's move to Real Madrid on a free transfer.
Earlier this week, it emerged that Liverpool were chasing Araujo's signature and the 27-year-old is seemingly on the verge of completing a loan move. According to Ben Jacobs, he is due to arrive in England to undergo a medical and complete the formalities of his switch.
The deal includes an option, rather than an obligation, for Liverpool to sign Araujo permanently at the end of the 2026/27 season. The purchase clause is worth around £47million, according to Sky Sports.
Injuries have ravaged Liverpool's defensive ranks ahead of the new campaign and the signing of Araujo will provide some much-needed cover at the back. He is also capable of playing at right-back, which is another area in need of reinforcement.
Meanwhile, the Reds continue to be linked with a blockbuster move for Barcola, who has been widely tipped to leave PSG before next month's transfer deadline.
Initial discussions are already thought to have taken place, but there is still plenty of work to do before the Frenchman can officially become a Liverpool player.

PSG are said to be eyeing a move for Barcelona forward Ferran Torres as a potential replacement for Barcola. In a boost for Liverpool, the former Manchester City striker appears to be keen on the switch.
According to ESPN, he has informed Barcelona chiefs that he wants to leave the Nou Camp and complete a move to PSG this summer.
This could free up Barcola to join Liverpool, who are seeking the addition of a new winger to succeed Mohamed Salah.
They aren't the only club in the race, though, with Arsenal said to be considering their own move for Barcola after missing out on the signature of Real Madrid talisman Vinicius Junior.
PSG are believed to have placed a £127m price tag on the 23-year-old, who remains tied down until the summer of 2028.
