Arsenal Confirmed Lineup: Pre-match fireworks at the Arsenal v Leeds United EPL match, at the Emirates Stadium - Arsenal vs Newcastle
This is the Arsenal confirmed lineup for their third match of pre-season. So far, the Gunners have defeated Girona 4-1 and lost 3-1 to Real Betis. Mikel Arteta would have been delighted to finally confirm the signing of Bruno Guimaraes, who is unlikely to feature, but could be paraded before the game begins. The Gunners will be eager to defeat Dortmund before moving on to their final pre-season game on August 12 against Como, before they face Manchester City in the Community Shield on August 16.

As mentioned, it’s unlikely Guimaraes will be unveiled, but to parade him to the Emirates faithful will give everyone a lift ahead of the new season.
Despite their new Brazilian signing not being ready, Arteta will have Martin Odegaard back after his post-World Cup break. Ethan Nwaneri could get another chance to impress Arteta, while William Saliba remains sidelined after returning from the World Cup with a back injury.
Arteta recently spoke to Josh James, where he discussed the return of the squad and the desire to successfully defend their Premier League title:
“It’s great to see everybody again with the same spirit after such a big season. To see everybody coming back in the building with such energy and desire to go again is really touching.”
“This has to be the start, and this has to be the standard. Excellence has to be our standard, and this has to drive to attack the future. The way we behave daily with more and more determination and ambition because we’ve shown that we’ve got it. Now we have to show that we belong to this level and we want to increase and take this football club to a different dimension,” added the Gunners boss.
Addressing the reintegration of players after the World Cup, Arteta said:
“It is all programmed,” he said. “We have three different pre-seasons with different groups. But the most important thing is not the programme, it is the attitude behind the programme. When I speak to Kai, he is desperate to come back tomorrow and Viktor the same and Piero the same. And when I speak to Declan, he is already talking, ‘OK, if I come this day, then I can play (then)’, and the rest the same. And that is much more powerful than the programme.

“We want to adapt to the context, which is different. There are a lot of opportunities within them because most of them have great experiences throughout the tournament and have really positive performances this past season as well.”
If we all achieve that, we are going to be in a really strong position in May.”
