Chelsea took on Johor Darul Ta’zim in the final game of their pre-season tour, with Xabi Alonso ringing the changes.
The Blues also played on Saturday beating AC Milan 3-0, so Alonso had to rotate his team.
In the first half, Chelsea looked very vulnerable and went a goal down. Alonso’s experiment of using Jamie Gittens and Geovany Quenda as wing-backs did not exactly go to plan.
They caused problems going forward, though, and Chelsea managed to score three goals in the 3-3 draw.
What did Gittens, Quenda and everyone else score out of 10? The Chelsea Chronicle has decided below!

Teddy Sharman-Lowe: 6/10
Very poor kick 15 mins in but was not costly. Replaced by Gabriel Slonina at the break.
Geovany Quenda: 5/10
Quiet in the first half, did not make as much of an impact as he did in previous friendlies.
Olutayo Subuloye: 6/10
Excellent bit of last-ditch defending inside the first 10 minutes. In his defence, most of JDT’s threat came down Chelsea’s left-hand side.
Tosin Adarabioyo: 3/10
Looked really slow for JDT’s opener, just not enough pace. All over the place in the first half.
Aaron Anselmino: 6/10
Looked comfortable in the left centre-back position before having to be taken off with an injury.
Jamie Gittens: 3/10
Struggled to defend his flank as a left wing-back. Definitely has a lot of work to do if he is going to play there in the future.

Dario Essugo: 4/10
Passing was quite sloppy in the first half. However, he started the second half strongly after being moved to the right of a back three and really kicked on until making another sloppy pass, which resulted in JDT’s third goal.
Mahdi Nicoll-Jazuli: 5/10
Made a very good tackle five minutes in but struggled alongside Essugo as the game progressed. Won’t be too harsh on the 16-year-old, though!
Estevao Willian: 5/10
Was pretty quiet but could have had a penalty. Yellow carded for a kick out.
Liam Delap: 9/10
Managed to test the goalkeeper early on before winning a penalty, which he converted. Great centre-forward play on the afternoon but received a needless yellow card. Should have had another goal before half-time but still managed to double his lead with another penalty.
Nicolas Jackson: 6/10
Caused a few problems on the left side of the opposition’s box. Not as much of a threat as Delap, though.
Substitutions
Reggie Watson: 7/10
Confident on the ball, made a really good interception to stop one JDT attack. Positioning and defending was top-notch.
Gabriel Slonina: 6/10
Big save at the beginning of the second half. Not much he could have done for JDT’s second goal after a deflection.
Mykhailo Mudryk: 6/10
Helped Chelsea draw level with a good cross into the box.
