Brock Rechsteiner, the son of WWE legend and Hall of Famer Scott Steiner, has been in the news recently. The 22-year-old athlete currently operates as the wide receiver for the New Orleans Saints.

On August 6, Rechsteiner was handed a six-match suspension for the upcoming NFL season. The rookie sensation was being penalized for violating the NFL-NFLPA performance-enhancing substances policy. The New Orleans Saints issued a press release addressing the issue on the team’s official website. Rex Steiner can still participate in preseason activities and training sessions with the team. This is supposed to be his first season with the Saints as a key member of the team after being roped in as a free agent.

Brock has openly spoken about pursuing a career in professional wrestling after his stint in the NFL. Fightful Select recently reported that a WWE higher-up was excited about the possibility of landing the star after he got signed by the Saints. The report also noted that his current suspension would not hinder any future opportunities with the company. The official also detailed that the second-generation star would almost certainly get an offer from the company after his NFL career was up.

In fact, the higher-up revealed that WWE had their eyes on him throughout his college career and had heard good things about the athlete. Earlier, Brock had also communicated to the promotion that he would be interested in a run when the time was right.

According to a WWE higher-up, there is a “99.9% chance” that Brock Rechsteiner gets a WWE offer whenever his career in the NFL is up.

WWE does not expect Rechsteiner to try out, and he will be signed outright when the time comes.

The Steiners have a rich legacy in WWE

Rick Steiner and Scott Steiner made a name for themselves as a tag team in the 80s. The duo became huge stars in WWE and won the Tag Team Championships. Following their stint in the company, they also wrestled in WCW. Scott Steiner returned at Survivor Series 2002 for a short stint before jumping ship to TNA Wrestling. The Steiner Brothers were inducted into the Hall of Fame class of 2022.

Brock’s cousin, Bronson Rechsteiner, is currently a member of the WWE roster and performs under the name Bron Breakker. He is one half of the World Tag Team Champions on RAW alongside Austin Theory. Breakker is one of the hottest prospects in the company and has rubbed shoulders against top stars such as Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and CM Punk.
