**Liverpool are in talks with the agents of Real Madrid striker Endrick over a potential loan move after agreeing a season-long loan deal with Barcelona for Ronald Araujo.**
The Uruguayan will join the Reds next week after an agreement was reached with Barcelona, which will see them pay Araujo’s £180,000-per-week wages for the 2026/27 season. The temporary deal includes an option to make the deal permanent next summer for a €55m (£47m) fee.
The Araujo deal came as a complete surprise, and it’s hard to say that signing Endrick on loan wouldn’t be similarly unexpected. It’s no secret that many top clubs admire the Brazilian forward, but Liverpool haven’t made many loans in recent years, so two in a single window would be totally unexpected.
It would, however, help Liverpool save funds for next summer when Andoni Iraola will have a clearer view of his team’s needs while simultaneously providing cover for Hugo Ekitike until his return from injury.
Liverpool talks to sign Endrick in a second loan of the summer
--------------------------------------------------------------
According to a report from [TEAMtalk](https://www.teamtalk.com/liverpool/latest-liverpool-transfer-news-endrick-ronald-araujo-cody-gakpo) correspondent Graeme Bailey, Liverpool have entered into talks with Endrick’s representatives to discuss a potential loan move to Anfield this summer.
Bailey reports: _“Sources have confirmed to TEAMtalk that Endrick’s representatives, together with intermediaries, have begun their due diligence on a possible move, with England emerging as the player’s preferred destination should he leave Spain._
_“A switch to the Premier League was something Endrick seriously considered before opting to join Real Madrid and that appeal has not diminished._
_“We understand that a number of clubs have now been contacted.”_
After spending the second half of last season on loan at Lyon due to a lack of minutes under Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa, Endrick is likely to leave on loan again due to Jose Mourinho signing Levante striker Carlos Espi.
Liverpool need a striker to provide cover while Ekitike works on rehabilitating the Achilles tendon injury which ruled him out of the World Cup this summer.
Last season, the 20-year-old did quite well on loan in Ligue 1, scoring five goals and assisting 7. A loan move to Liverpool would give the Reds the benefit of getting a close look at him before making a decision on a permanent transfer as with the Araujo deal.
