The Baltimore Ravens are currently participating in training camp as they gear up for the forthcoming NFL season. The Ravens enter this year with legit Super Bowl expectations as they look to bounce back after missing the postseason altogether a year ago.

One player who has been making waves at practice thus far is rookie wide receiver Ja'Kobi Lane out of USC, and recently, Ravens insider Josh Tolentino of the Baltimore Sun broke down the latest way that the receiver raised eyebrows at camp.

“Right after this 11v11 red zone period wraps, Lamar Jackson runs over to the near sideline, daps up Ja’Kobi Lane and comes down to a knee with the rookie receiver. Jackson and Lane talking closely throughout the entirety of this second-string period,” reported Tolentino on X, formerly Twitter.

He also added that “During ensuing live period now, Lamar Jackson’s first throw is a heave down the left sideline to none other than Ja’Kobi Lane on a fly, Lane draws DPI from Marlon Humphrey. Chains moving.”

Tolentino has been highly touted coming out of college, with Baltimore selecting him in the third round of this year's NFL Draft. The Ravens recently made headlines by signing wide receiver Zay Flowers to a massive extension, but the team doesn't exactly have a ton of depth at the position beyond that, so it's possible that Tolentino could be asked to play a larger role than average for a third-round rookie.

Overall, the Ravens still have one of the most talented rosters in the NFL, but they will need to get off to a much better start this year than they have the last couple of seasons, in which they stumbled out of the gates.
