Liverpool in pole position to sign£43m star blessed with unbelievable pace

**Liverpool are still in talks with PSG over a deal to sign Ibrahim Mbaye this summer, and a transfer fee for his services now appears to be set in stone.**

Bradley Barcola is the top prize for Liverpool this summer, but it’s proving more than difficult to agree on a fee with PSG, but the Reds also want Mbaye which is likely complicating matters a touch.

That said, the Reds are focused on getting both deals done before the summer transfer window slams shut on 1 September at 11 pm.

Liverpool in pole position to sign Mbaye as £43m fee appears to be the max PSG could demand

Football Insider journalist Pete O’Rourke reports that Liverpool are doing their all to sign Ibrahim Mbaye from PSG after reporting last week that the Reds are in pole position to sign the Senegalese.

Speaking on [the Transfer Insider podcast](https://www.footballinsider247.com/liverpool/ibrahim-mbayes-stance-on-liverpool-move-revealed-as-clubs-push-to-agree-deal), O’Rourke explained: _“Liverpool are trying to put themselves in a position where they could be frontrunners for Ibrahim Mbaye._

_“Bayer Leverkusen in Germany have been the ones who have been pushing for the Senegal attacker this summer, but Liverpool have shown their cards and made their interest known._

_“It does now seem the player would be open to the opportunity to move to England and to Anfield as well, because he wants to play in the Premier League and test himself at the highest level._

_“There is a bit of a battle for his signature right now, and PSG would possibly let him move on with the plethora of attackers that they’ve got in their star-studded side.”_

A report from [David Lynch](https://anfieldindex.com/97602/journalist-bundesliga-bid-will-help-liverpool-in-move-for-ligue-1-wonderkid.html) suggests that PSG have made it difficult to demand a large fee from Liverpool after coming close to agreeing on a transfer fee with the likes of Bayer Leverkusen and RB Leipzig. The reported valuation that is being thrown around in talks is £43m.

Lynch said: _“If Liverpool do come in at the last, if they do decide to pull the trigger on Mbaye, it’s going to be hard for PSG to turn around and say, ‘Well, you’re a Premier League club, we’re going to charge you X, Y or Z,’ because they’ve come quite close to agreeing what a fee would look like already with clubs like RB Leipzig, with Bayer Leverkusen, and that valuation is out there.”_
