CHARLOTTE, N.C. (KLTV) - Former Longview Lobo and Carolina Panther third quaterback Haynes King is expected to miss time after a hamstring injury suffered in [Thursday’s Hall of Fame game](https://www.kltv.com/2026/08/07/longviews-king-makes-nfl-debut-scores-game-winning-touchdown-panthers/) against the Arizona Cardinals.
According to ESPN, Panthers Coach Dave Canales said that he believed King’s injury happened on his game-winning touchdown score.
King ran in from the 5 on the final play to give the Panthers a dramatic 33-30 victory over the Cardinals to kick off the NFL preseason.
“From what I understood, it was on that last play where he kind of lunged and dove for the goal line and really gave everything he had literally,” Canales said. “And so we’ll just keep evaluating him on a weekly basis.”
Canales confirmed King won’t play in Saturday’s game against the Buffalo Bills_._
