Sky Sports may have accidentally confirmed Liverpool’s next signing
Liverpool fell to a 3-2 defeat to Monaco at Anfield earlier today as Andoni Iraola’s first home game didn’t go as planned.
The Reds raced to a 2-0 lead thanks to Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz, but the visitors struck back and won it at the death after a spirited second-half showing.
Liverpool won’t care too much about the result as they continue their preparations for the 2026-27 Premier League season.
In terms of transfers, the Reds have agreed a deal to sign Ronald Araujo from Barcelona, who flew in for his medical earlier today.
The deal hasn’t been officially announced yet, but Sky Sports may have accidentally confirmed that it’s done and dusted.
Ronald Araujo’s agent spotted at Anfield
Sky Sports did an interview with Florian Wirtz after the game, and in the background, Richard Hughes was spotted walking around with a mysterious man.
And eagle-eyed Liverpool fans took notice of it and confirmed his identity: Edoardo Crnjar.
Now, if the Uruguayan’s move to Anfield wasn’t done and dusted, he would not have been spotted at Anfield, let alone with the club’s sporting director walking through the tunnel and into the changing rooms.
Araujo will play for Liverpool next season, so an official announcement can’t be far off. And thanks to the folks at Sky, we now believe the deal is all but done.
The transfer window is well and truly something else…
