The star is pushing for a move to Tottenham as Manchester City prepare to consider a £60 million offer for the Brazilian winger.
Tottenham Hotspur are well-positioned to complete a deal for Manchester City winger Savinho before the summer transfer window closes, as the Brazilian international actively seeks regular first-team football away from the Etihad Stadium.
According to an exclusive report from Football Insider transfer correspondent Pete O’Rourke, Manchester City are prepared to accept an offer in the region of £60 million for the 22-year-old attacker as negotiations between the two Premier League clubs progress.
Savinho experienced a challenging campaign at Manchester City, receiving only seven Premier League starts under former manager Pep Guardiola as competition for attacking positions intensified following the arrival of Antoine Semenyo. Having registered five goals and three assists across 39 total appearances last season, including just two goal contributions in 24 league outings, the Brazilian has grown eager to secure a guaranteed starting role elsewhere.
Speaking on Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, O’Rourke revealed that talks are progressing positively, with all parties confident that an agreement will ultimately be finalized before deadline day:
“There’ll be an expectation that Savinho is keen on a move away to Tottenham. They will offer him that platform for regular first team football and it’s probably something that Manchester City can’t offer to him right now. The expectation is that this deal probably will get done before the close of the window with Savinho making the move to North London.”
Squad Competition and Maresca’s Transfer Stance
Should Savinho complete his transition to North London, he will join an attacking contingent under head coach Roberto De Zerbi, competing for positions alongside Mathys Tel, Mohammed Kudus, James Maddison, Wilson Odobert, and Dejan Kulusevski.
Meanwhile, new Manchester City manager Enzo Maresca acknowledged that while Savinho remains fully integrated in pre-season preparation, the club is preparing for potential departures before the window shuts once a replacement is lined up. Addressing the ongoing transfer speculation surrounding the winger’s future, Maresca kept the door open for a move:
“In this moment, there is much speculation about our players – Savi is not the only one. While Savinho is here, we’re going to try and do our best to help him (to see) how he can improve, and then unfortunately, as we said many times with the transfer window open, anything can happen. We need to be ready for that.”
City intend to secure a replacement attacker before sanctioning any immediate exit, but with negotiations actively ongoing and the player eager for the move, Tottenham remain confident of bringing the deal across the line before the transfer window closes.
