2026 NFL Top 100: Superstar QB Climbs 17 Spots 1
The 2026 NFL Top 100 is highlighted by the rankings of the quarterbacks. With the list getting to the biggest names in the league, there are a lot of notable quarterbacks still waiting to see where they rank on this list among their peers. This will be the 11th quarterback to be revealed on this list. Let’s take a deeper dive into who it is and what they did to get into this spot.

The Los Angeles Chargers are hoping to see quarterback Justin Herbert take that next step in the 2026 season. It is clear his peers feel like he is an elite talent, as he climbed 17 spots to be ranked 39th on the 2026 NFL Top 100. NFL’s Bobby Kownack wrote the following blurb about Justin Herbert being on the list:
“Herbert had the unenviable task of spending much of last season without his starting offensive tackles. The result? Facing 268 pressures and a 43.3% pressure rate, both league highs, and yet the Pro Bowler still guided the Chargers to their first back-to-back playoff berths since 2008-09. He also constantly made magic while avoiding the rush. Herbert threw 10 touchdowns on the run in 2025, most in the NFL, and his 1,192 passing yards under pressure ranked fourth. With better protection on the way this season, perhaps Herbert will achieve his first postseason win — or even stack a few of them.”
Herbert made the Pro Bowl for the second time in his career during the 2025 season. In 16 games, he completed 340 of 512 (66.4%) of his passes for 3,727 yards with 26 passing touchdowns and 13 interceptions while rushing 83 times for 498 yards (6.0 yards per attempt) with two rushing touchdowns. Herbert suffered a fractured left wrist during the season, but still made the playoffs.
However, this is where he needs to show improvement, as he has yet to be successful in the postseason and continued to have that be the case in the team’s singular playoff game last season. It was his best performance, but completing 19 of 31 passes for 148 yards does not bring many chances for success for the Chargers.

The 2026 NFL Top 100 list is voted on by the players during the previous season. Each weekday, two names are revealed until we reach the top 10 players remaining. At that point, only one player will be announced until all 100 names are released on Friday, Sept. 4.
