Manchester United are working on a deal to sign Leicester City teenager Louis Page, with the club attempting to beat Premier League rivals Arsenal and Aston Villa to the highly rated midfielder.
According to reports from BBC journalist Sami Mokbel, United are in talks with Leicester over an agreement for Page and are trying to advance negotiations for the 18-year-old. Arsenal and Aston Villa have also registered strong interest in the youngster in recent weeks, setting up a three-way battle for one of the EFL’s most promising emerging talents.
Page has rapidly established himself as a player of considerable potential. The England youth international was named EFL Apprentice of the Year last season after making his breakthrough into Leicester’s senior side.
The midfielder made his competitive first-team debut against Huddersfield Town in the Carabao Cup in August 2025, having progressed through Leicester’s academy since joining the club at Under-9 level.
He subsequently made his Championship debut against Charlton Athletic and registered an assist against Birmingham City. Leicester handed him his first professional contract in September 2025, describing him at the time as one of the brightest talents in their academy.
Page went on to make more than 20 senior appearances for Leicester last season as the club were relegated from the Championship. His latest appearance came in the Carabao Cup victory over Northampton on Saturday, underlining his continued involvement despite his young age.
Manchester United‘s interest fits a broader recruitment strategy focused on identifying young players with significant development potential. The club have already pursued a number of emerging talents in recent transfer windows and are understood to view Page as another player capable of developing into a first-team asset.
The teenager’s Leicester contract means Manchester United will need to negotiate a transfer fee rather than simply rely on compensation, adding another potential hurdle to the deal. Leicester are now competing in League One following their relegation, which could increase pressure to consider a significant offer for a player attracting attention from some of England’s biggest clubs.
ARSENAL and Aston Villa remain interested, but United’s decision to move forward with talks could give them an important advantage in the race.
