ESPN Drafts Stavros Halkias to Kick Off Its NFL Coverage

Created by Arts & Letters, the new campaign features the stand-up and star of Netflix’s ‘Tires’ running down all of ESPN’s football shows for the season ahead, reports LBB’s Ben Conway

ESPN has enlisted the help of comedian Stavros ‘Stavvy’ Halkias to let the nation know just how much NFL coverage the network has this year.

Created by Richmond-based agency Arts & Letters, ‘Football’s On ESPN’ celebrates that ESPN is now the centre of the football world, showcasing all its new NFL content from Sunday NFL Countdown, to Monday Night Football, the NFL Network and ESPN’s first-ever Super Bowl broadcast.

Cult-favourite comedian and host of the ‘Stavvy’s World’ podcast, Stavros Halkias leads the campaign’s hero film ‘Whole Situation’, proclaiming that there’s so much NFL on ESPN this year “it’s disgusting”.

A Baltimore Ravens fanatic himself, the star of Netflix’s ‘Tires’ and the upcoming Anthony Bourdain movie ‘Tony’ leans into his likeable every-man persona to jokingly run down every piece of NFL coverage airing across ESPN’s platform.

"Two of my great passions in life are watching football all day and driving motorised office desks. This campaign with ESPN gave me a chance to do both,” said Stavros. “Couldn't be happier with the way it came out. Go Ravens, baby! Lamar's winning MVP again."

The campaign launched during this year's NFL Hall of Fame Enshrinement Game on August 8th, and will run throughout the regular NFL season, reaching fans across ESPN social channels, linear TV, OLV and the NFL Network.
