Arsenal have been backed to retain the Premier League title, with the Guardian writers’ Arsenal title prediction placing Mikel Arteta’s side first for the 2026/27 season.
The Gunners ended a 22-year wait to become champions last season and have strengthened again during the summer, most notably with the £75million arrival of Bruno Guimaraes from Newcastle United.
Christos Tzolis has also joined Arteta’s attack, while Arsenal remain open to further additions before the transfer window closes.
In the Guardian’s Premier League preview, the average prediction from its writers has Arsenal finishing top of the table again.

The Guardian believes Arsenal possess arguably the deepest squad in the Premier League after adding Guimaraes and Tzolis to a group which won the title last season.
There are concerns, however.
William Saliba is sidelined with a back injury, while Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice were among the players who carried significant workloads during the World Cup.
Managing those players could prove important if Arsenal are to compete across another demanding campaign.
Arteta also appears determined not to allow last season’s success to result in complacency.
ReadArsenal reported on Sunday that the manager still wants to strengthen his squad if the right opportunity becomes available before the window closes.
Another attacking signing remains possible after Arsenal missed out on Vinicius Junior, while their defensive options are also being assessed during Saliba’s absence.
There is plenty for Arteta to resolve before the Premier League begins.
Arsenal will nevertheless start the campaign as defending champions with a stronger squad than the one which finished top last season.
The Guardian’s writers clearly believe they remain the team to beat.
