Arsenal signing players from Chelsea has become quite a common theme over the past few years.

Last summer, Arsenal signed both Noni Madueke and Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea, while Kai Havertz left Stamford Bridge for the Emirates in 2023.

Since then, it has been claimed that Arsenal have also tried to buy Joao Pedro, but it does not look like the Brazilian is the only Chelsea star on the Gunners’ radar.

Chelsea shouldn’t sell Pedro Neto to Arsenal

Arsenal are the latest club to be linked with Pedro Neto, but Chelsea should think twice before selling the winger to their London rivals.

Journalist Simon Phillips has reported on Si Phillips Talks Chelsea that the Premier League champions are interested in signing Neto this summer.

It comes after City’s interest in Neto, with Enzo Maresca seemingly keen on a reunion with his former player.

By no means is Neto the most popular player among the Chelsea fan base. A lot of us do get frustrated with some of the 26-year-old’s habits on the pitch.

For example, Neto has a tendency to dribble and keep his head down instead of looking up and playing the appropriate pass or cross. However, when the Portuguese does do that, he is capable of putting a dangerous ball into the box.

As well as being great at crosses, Neto has pace, can play on both flanks and has scored some big goals for Chelsea since joining the club from Wolverhampton Wanderers. Based on that, I would not sell him, especially not to Arsenal.

Pedro Neto could be a good wing-back option for Xabi Alonso

Another reason why Chelsea should keep hold of Neto is because he could be ideal for Xabi Alonso.

Considering some of his characteristics that have already been mentioned, Neto could be perfect in the right wing-back position under Alonso.

The Spaniard says he is going to be flexible in the upcoming campaign and has already used a wing-back system in pre-season.

On top of being a good crosser and having pace, Neto works extremely hard, constantly getting up and down the pitch. His future could definitely be at wing-back, and we see that in the win over AC Milan. Chelsea must resist selling the Portugal international to Arsenal.
