While Liverpool’s summer might have been quiet so far on the transfer front, the Reds are at least set to make one major addition with Jeff Bezos reportedly close to buying a stake in the club. The founder of Amazon is part of a consortium that is closing in on a deal to purchase a roughly one-third stake.

Sky News reports that Fenway Sports Group is preparing an announcement about the deal, which is expected this week. And as is the case with any new owners, they’ll be keen to make an immediate impact by getting the chequebook out and bringing in some fresh talent. As such, Express Sport have picked out five big-money deals Bezos and co. could look to finance in their first few transfer windows in charge...

Starting off in the here and now. Liverpool are desperate for a Mohamed Salah replacement, with Bradley Barcola looking like the most likely candidate. The winger is said to have given the green light to join Liverpool, with the transfer now likely hinging on the Merseyside outfit being able to strike a financial agreement with PSG.

Due to his knee ligament injury, Liverpool won't be getting this one done this month but Nico Schlotterbeck is certainly a player worth keeping an eye on for the future. The Borussia Dortmund defender would be a suitable candidate to replace Virgil van Dijk, who is out of contract in 12 months' time.

Speaking of which, if Liverpool deem their centre-back situation serious this summer, they could push harder to sign Ezri Konsa. The Aston Villa man had an impressive World Cup with England, and has been linked with a move away from Villa Park. Konsa has two years left on his contract with the Europa League winners, but he might just be the signing Liverpool need.

Another name that has been heavily linked to Liverpool is Adam Wharton. There was expected to be a lot of talk around the midfielder this summer, but so far nothing has progressed beyond speculation and rumours. The ex-Blackburn ace has three years left on his deal, putting Crystal Palace in a strong negotiating position. It isn’t a must for Liverpool, meaning this one might have to wait until next summer.
