Real Madrid forward Endrick has emerged as the latest player linked to Liverpool, with the club having “taken a look” before being put off by the deal conditions.

The 20-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan with Lyon, and another temporary deal is being lined up for the Brazilian as he is not expected to feature prominently for Jose Mourinho.

Real Madrid are, therefore, open to letting him leave again this summer, but the temporary nature of the deal does not suit Liverpool’s needs.

According to Ben Jacobs, talking on talkSPORT, Liverpool “have taken a look” at Endrick but “they want something with permanence,” which is at odds with the player and Real Madrid only wanting a loan.

The desire is only for the 20-year-old to get minutes, not leave the Bernabeu permanently, after managing 1,732 across the entirety of last season.

Aston Villa were named among the clubs “alert” to the type of deal the Spanish side want, with Roma also enquiring about the Brazil international.

He is represented by Jay-Z’s Roc Nation, the same agency as previous target Yan Diomande.

Endrick deal could make sense for Liverpool

While Liverpool’s desire to invest in an attacking option for the present and long term is understandable, loaning Endrick would also, on paper, seem smart.

With Hugo Ekitike sidelined until early 2027 and with no promises of the level he can return at, Alexander Isak needs help up top, and Endrick would be a sensible option for Andoni Iraola.

He can also start on the right flank, an obvious area in need of investment at Anfield.

Liverpool have shown a willingness to agree a loan move after signing Ronald Araujo, and the 20-year-old is an explosive option who drives at defenders, qualities the head coach seeks.

He has 143 senior club appearances for Palmeiras, Real Madrid and Lyon combined, plus 21 international caps for Brazil.

Endrick is still young and a work in progress, but the Reds ‘taking a look’ in the first place suggests they like his profile and what he could offer.

The structure of any deal is a clear stumbling block, but the hope is that the Reds looking around is a positive indication of their plans for the final weeks of the transfer window.
