**Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez is set to return to pre-season training this week without his future having been resolved.**
The Argentinian international has been widely tipped to leave Stamford Bridge, but with three weeks left to go before the transfer window closes, he remains in London.

“His agent has been, I believe, speaking with Chelsea over the weekend, but Enzo himself is then due back, I think Tuesday. It might be wrong on that. It might be today. It might be Wednesday, but he’s definitely due back any day now in Cobham.”
“And he is going to be speaking to Chelsea about it as well as his agent. So, there’s going to be conversations this week, conversations with Alonso, and Enzo, I believe, is still going to tell them that he wants to leave.
“So, yeah, the ball will be in Chelsea’s court. If they want to sell him, they might have to think more realistic and drop the price a little or agree to some kind of loan-to-obligation.”

The Blues are currently holding out for £120m, which seems like a reasonable figure, considering that Manchester City spent £116m on Elliot Anderson.
However, the key difference is that clubs know that Fernandez wants to move away from Stamford Bridge, so the powers that be may have to consider lowering their demands if the player is adamant that he won’t stay.

Of course, while the player may head into the meeting with his manager determined to secure his exit from the club, things could change once he talks to him.
