Carabao Cup second round draw: Newcastle United discover their second round opponents.
Newcastle United will play in the Carabao Cup second round on the week commencing August 24.
The Magpies have reached the Carabao Cup final in each of the past two occasions they have entered the competition at this stage, claiming the trophy with a 2-1 win against Liverpool in 2025.
Last season, while competing in the Champions League, Newcastle reached the semi-final of the competition but were knocked out by eventual winners Manchester City.
The Magpies have a strong recent record in the competition and it will be an early test for new head coach Jaissle to continue that record.
The second round draw sees Premier League sides not competing in Europe enter the competition, such as Newcastle, Leeds United, Chelsea, The draw is broken up into a Northern and Southern section, with Newcastle ball 14 in the Northern draw.
The second round draw took place ahead of Plymouth Argyle v Exeter City on Sky Sports on Monday, August 10.
