Mutual interest existed between Quinnen Williams and the Cowboys with respect to an extension. A new deal is indeed now in place.
Williams agreed to three-year extension on Monday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. This is a $105.9MM pact, he adds. Williams still had two seasons remaining on his previous deal, so he will now be under team control through 2030.
Details on the contract illustrate the level of commitment being made by Dallas in this case. Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Williams received $63.35MM locked in at signing. That represents the largest full guarantee ever given to a defensive lineman. The total guarantees on this extension check in at $101MM. At an average of $35.3MM per year, the new money included in this pact ranks second among all D-tackles.
More to come…
