After spending one season with the Philadelphia Eagles, the latest NFL rumors are urging the team to trade former Las Vegas Raiders draft selection Jakorian Bennett. Originally selected in the 2023 NFL Draft, the former Maryland product was traded to Philadelphia last offseason and served as a low-risk development player. However, The Athletic’s Zach Berman believes the cornerback is a trade candidate. Despite having a huge opportunity to be a legitimate starter for the Eagles, he could not live up to expectations.
Bennett isn’t the only player that’s a trade chip. Former Georgia product Kelee Ringo is also believed to be on the trade block, with both entering the final years of their contracts. After the team signed former Washington Commander Jonathan Jones and Super Bowl Riq Woolen, the Eagles might be listening to offers. Last offseason, the Eagles wanted to stabilize this cornerback unit and bring true competition for Adoree’ Jackson, who played out his final year and remains an unrestricted free agent.
With Jones and Woolen in the fold, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Ringo or Bennett traded, but the former Maryland product could be favored to join a new team before Week 1.

NFL Rumors: Eagles Urged to Dump $4.6M Bust
He was traded once before, so why not again, right? Last season, the 2023 draft selection finished the 2025 campaign with 6 total tackles (5 solo and 1 assist), 1 pass deflection, 0 interceptions, and 0 sacks in 11 games. Unfortunately, he suffered a pectoral injury in Week 1 of that season. Despite returning in November, he was limited, but it wasn’t the first time he suffered a related injury. In 2024, with the Raiders, the cornerback experienced multiple shoulder dislocations while suffering a torn labrum.
The Eagles knew the risks, but still rolled the dice on him. However, would he still be considered a trade candidate?
A Release is a Possibility
It’s hard to envision any team willing to give up more than a sixth-round pick for the former Maryland product. However, the cornerback should generate interest if released. Let’s examine the three teams that could give him a shot if released or traded. (Click Next Page)
