Fabian Ruiz would be one of Chelsea’s best deals under Todd Boehly
With Enzo Fernandez’s future still uncertain, Chelsea may need to buy another midfielder before the transfer window closes, and it looks like they have Paris Saint-Germain’s Fabian Ruiz on their radar.
According to Si Phillips Talks Chelsea, the Club World Cup holders are doing their homework on a potential deal for the Spaniard, checking how much he could cost and what his wages would be.
Ruiz would not be a like-for-like replacement for Fernandez, but he would still be a brilliant addition to this Chelsea squad. In fact, the PSG star would be one of the best signings made at Chelsea since the club were taken over by Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali.
With Ruiz, you know what you are going to get: a technical midfielder who is going to dominate possession.

As per WhoScored, Ruiz had a pass success rate of 92.6% in Ligue 1 last season. On average, he completed 60.6 passes per game.
At 30 and with 50 Spain caps to his name, Ruiz is also going to bring more experience to Alonso’s side. He ticks a lot of boxes for the two-time Champions League winners.
A lot could hinge on what happens with Fernandez. If the Argentine remains at Stamford Bridge, there may not be a need to bring in Ruiz.
However, if he is sold, the sporting directors need to be all over Ruiz, who could transform Chelsea’s midfield.
