Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli continues to be linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium this summer as Mikel Arteta looks to revamp his Gunners attack.

The Brazilian winger players just over 1,000 minutes in the Premier League last season across 30 appearances scoring just one goal and setting up a further four goals for his team-mates.

Arsenal are looking to strengthen the left-hand side of their attack with more goals and assists in that area of the pitch, with transfer speculation linking Martinelli with a move away from the club.

Turkish Super Lig side Galatasaray are one of the clubs interested in signing the Arsenal winger, while Serie A side AS Roma are also keen.

Corriere dello Sport reports 'the trail has been reopened' by Roma as they look to reopen talks with the Gunners for Martinelli.

Giallorossi sporting director Tony D’Amico was reportedly in London over the weekend and is looking to sign the Brazilian.

The Italian side had been keen on landing RB Leipzig winger Antonio Nusa, but have given up on that pursuit.

Roma have reportedly held talks with Roc Nation - Martinelli's representatives - about deals for Endrick and Malick Fofana as well as the Arsenal forward.

It's claimed Arsenal 'remain convinced' the Serie A side can match their asking price for Martinelli - which is reportedly in the region of £34.2m and £38.5m.

That would be a new club record sale for the Gunners if a transfer can be agreed towards the higher end of that scale. Their previous record remains Alex Oxlade Chamberlain's £35m move to Liverpool back in 2017.

However, Roma reportedly believe the face Martinelli's contract runs out in 2027 could result in them getting a discounted deal.

It's claimed Martinelli wants an annual wage of £9.4m, while the Italian outfit has a current limit of £7.7m according to the report.

The Arsenal man may have to rethink his wage demands in order to move to Roma, though Gian Piero Gasperini reportedly loves working with direct wide players and the Brazilian fits that mould perfectly.
