Lewis Koumas has caught the eye for Liverpool in pre-season, and a host of clubs are interested in signing him on loan this summer.
The 20-year-old took his chance to impress Andoni Iraola during the Reds’ tour of the USA, making the most of experienced players being absent.
Koumas scored in the 4-2 win over Sunderland in Nashville, and his quality and work ethic have caught the eye throughout the summer.
There is no guarantee that he will stay at Liverpool in 2026/27, however, and This Is Anfield understands Burnley are among the clubs to hold interest in a deal.

Despite Koumas’ aforementioned strong pre-season showing, a loan away is the most likely outcome this summer.
The young forward enjoyed spells at Championship pair Birmingham and Hull last season, impressing more for the latter and scoring three times in the league.
Wrexham were also linked with Koumas back in January, prior to his move to Hull, with plenty of interest throughout 2026.

There may be some who would be disappointed to see Koumas head out on loan, especially as he has made it clear how much he is enjoying playing under Iraola.
“He has a really aggressive style and he loves to press,” Koumas said. “I think I can do that well and I think I can do it for him. So, hopefully it catches the eye.
“There was no sort of ‘well done’ [from Iraola post-match], it was just talking about how I can get better at pressing.
“Because there was a time where I wanted to jump straight through, but it would have affected the way we want to press, so he just tried to give me more information straight away.
“I think it’s going to help my development and help me become a better player, so ultimately it’s better.”
Despite this, it is difficult to see where regular minutes will come by for Koumas, as Liverpool look to strengthen further in attack.
Rather than be back in the youth setup, another Championship loan switch would be ideal, and Burnley tick plenty of boxes.
They are among the favourites to earn promotion back to the Premier League, so Koumas could be one of the leading attackers in the division after finding another gear in his game.
