**Liverpool remain locked in talks with PSG for two players: Bradley Barcola and Ibrahim Mbaye.**
While the French international has been a long-standing target, links with Mbaye emerged towards the second half of last month, although it has gone cold since.
The Reds need more quality in attack after losing Mohamed Salah, while Hugo Ekitike is no closer to returning from his ACL injury.
And now, with PSG set to face Aston Villa in the UEFA Super Cup, both players have been included in the squad by Luis Enrique.
Barcola returned to training yesterday for PSG along with the rest of the French contingent that was at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Luis Enrique made it clear that he would freeze players out of the squad if they weren’t willing to play for the club.
And with the duo linked with Liverpool, the Anfield faithful kept one eye on PSG’s teamsheet ahead of their game against Aston Villa.

Mbaye was expected to be named in the squad, while Barcola was also included despite being sick.
This is a bit of a blow for Liverpool as it proves that neither transfer is even close to being done; if that were the case, PSG wouldn’t risk them ahead of big-money transfers.
