**Man City have a concrete interest in Chelsea winger Pedro Neto, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.**
Speaking on [his YouTube channel](https://youtu.be/_OA6niT136A?si=J8B0E20afVikug3g&t=173), Romano said that while discussions have been held about a potential transfer, the “gap in valuation” between the two clubs means an agreement is far from certain:
“I can 100% confirm that he’s one of the names on the list at Manchester City. I can 100% confirm that Man City are interested in Pedro Neto.”
“But at the moment, there is a gap in valuation for Pedro Neto between Manchester City and Chelsea. A very big gap in valuation, and so at the moment, the Pedro Neto deal is financially not easy.”
“Also on Pedro Neto, Chelsea are not desperate to sell Pedro Neto at all. Chelsea are happy with the player, so they are not putting the player on the exit list. If a big proposal arrives, good; otherwise, Chelsea are more than happy to keep him.”
Manager [**Xabi Alonso**](https://chelseanews.com/blog/chelsea-news-alonso-first-5-premier-league-games-score-predictions/) doesn’t really like deploying traditional wide men. He prefers the width to come from his wingback/fullbacks with his two wide forwards cutting inside and finding space in between the lines.
That means the Spaniard doesn’t have much use for Neto. He decided to use him at right wingback in the 3-0 friendly win over AC Milan at the weekend.
What is Neto’s asking price?

No valuation has been made public, but the Blues are expected to demand a lot more than the £54m they spent to bring him in from Wolves two years ago.
Clearly, City want the Portuguese international, with their head coach Enzo Maresca having worked with him before, but at the moment, no deal appears to be close.
Neto does have other suitors, with Liverpool and Arsenal having also been linked in recent days, but City are the only team so far to make an approach.
