Burnley agree deal for Man City defender
Burnley have agreed a deal to sign Manchester City defender Max Alleyne.
As first revealed by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, the Clarets have finalised a loan deal for the 21-year-old, who spent the first half of last season on loan in the Championship with Watford.
The England Under-21 international made 17 appearances for the Hornets and by all accounts made a positive impression.
The centre-back was then recalled to the Etihad in January owing to injuries to Josko Gvardiol and Ruben Dias.
He made seven appearances during the second half of the campaign, scoring in Man City’s 10-1 FA Cup win over Exeter City, featuring against Manchester United in the Premier League and turning out in the Champions League too.

“Burnley agree deal to sign Max Alleyne as new centre back from Manchester City, here we go!,” Romano wrote on X.
“Deal done on straight loan, no buy option clause included. Back to #MCFC in June 2027.
“Alleyne will undergo medical tomorrow.”
The Bristol-born defender first signed for City in 2021 for a £1.5m fee, bringing him in from Southampton’s academy. He signed his first professional contract the following year.
At the end of the 2024/25 season, Alleyne was named City’s Under-21 player of the year.
He will become Burnley’s fourth signing of the summer, following in the footsteps of Ben Amos, Ugo Raghouber and Lluc Castell.
