Myles Lewis-Skelly could well be the next signing through the door at Chelsea, as Arsenal look to find the England star a new club where he will play regularly and pay big money.
With Arsenal completing a deal for Bruno Guimaraes, and the Gunners boasting Piero Hincapie and Riccardo Calafiori at left-back, Lewis-Skelly is rapidly falling down the pecking order under Mikel Arteta.
Reports have since indicated that Arsenal could now cash in on the England international, with Chelsea among the clubs Lewis-Skelly has been offered to. It is unclear how much Chelsea would have to spend.
But the Blues are likely to be interested, should they listen to Cesc Fabregas’ verdict on the Hale End Academy graduate. Plenty with a Chelsea past have had their say on the Arsenal ace, in fact.
What Thomas Tuchel said about Myles Lewis-Skelly in 2025
Lewis-Skelly has played six times for England, even scoring a goal. All six of his appearances for the Three Lions have come since Thomas Tuchel was placed in charge, having taken over from Gareth Southgate.
Asked in a press conference about Lewis-Skelly, Chelsea icon Tuchel raved about the Arsenal youngster. He explained that his attitude off the pitch is just as good as the character fans see on the pitch.

“Amazing. He has such an open and mature character. Everything you see off the pitch, you see on the pitch, and off of it too. He plays with a natural confidence; this is how he plays football,” Tuchel said.
“Very impressive. Full of courage, full of quality, and even more so because he is decisive,” the England manager previously said about Lewis-Skelly, with Tuchel’s old side Chelsea now a possible landing spot.
Do Chelsea really need a player like Lewis-Skelly?
Lewis-Skelly’s frustration at Arsenal is born out of his lack of opportunity in midfield. It is a similar problem that Ainsley Maitland-Niles had at Arsenal, used regularly at full-back despite being a midfielder.
If the Gunners ace wants to depart, it will be to join a club where he is used in midfield. Do Chelsea have the room for him, with Jordan Henderson and Valentin Barco added to Moises Caicedo, Enzo and others?
His versatility would be an important asset under Alonso, and there is an argument to suggest Lewis-Skelly is a better player than Barco. But if he is going to cost around £50m, then it feels a bit pointless.
For now, Chelsea are set to welcome the arrival of Pep Chavarria from Rayo Vallecano, while Xabi Alonso prepares his side to face his old team Real Sociedad at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon.
