The New Orleans Saints are currently taking part in training camp as they gear up for the upcoming 2026 NFL season. Unfortunately, New Orleans has been dealing with some injury concerns of late, as veteran defensive lineman Cam Jordan suffered a hamstring injury that has kept him out of practice recently.

On Tuesday, the team got the latest update on Jordan's status as the regular season approaches, and it wasn't a positive one.

“Kellen Moore said Cam Jordan’s injury could potentially go into the season. He said ‘you never know,' but he’ll definitely miss time in training camp,” reported Katherine Terrell of ESPN on X, formerly Twitter.

While he's not the same dominant player he was at the peak of his powers, Jordan is still a solid player on the defensive line and a respected veteran voice for a young Saints team. Having him out to begin the regular season would be a tough blow for a Saints team looking to take a step toward contention this year after multiple down years in a row.

New Orleans isn't exactly expected to do much this year by most pundits, although there is considerable optimism about quarterback Tyler Shough, who had a strong close to the 2025 season, as well as some of the Saints' younger players on the defensive side of the ball.

The team will certainly hope for good news on the Jordan front moving forward.

The Saints are set to kick off their new season on September 13 vs the Detroit Lions.
